Notice of proposed amended bylaws
On behalf of the Board, I would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all of you who have supported the Clubhouse in the past 18 months. As we’ve gained experience over these first 18 months, the Board has realized there are sections of the Clubhouse bylaws that need to be changed or improved. Most notable is our proposal to lengthen (to two years) and stagger Board Director terms starting with the January 2024 election. This is similar to the bylaws of other clubhouses and non-profits around the country and will help ensure better Board continuity. We also are proposing hybrid annual meetings, as our Zoom meetings have significantly expanded our geographic reach, and we want to ensure all of our eligible supporting members are able to vote.
Any changes to the bylaws require the Supporting Members’ approval. Following the procedure in the current bylaws, the Board has approved the calling of a Special Supporting Membership Meeting to be held on October 15, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the Clubhouse for the sole purpose of reviewing and answering questions about the proposed amended bylaws. Following that meeting, you will have at least 30 days before casting your vote on November 19, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the Clubhouse. Two-thirds of the supporting members present at that meeting must approve the changes in order for the proposed amendments to the bylaws to be approved.
While these meetings are open to anyone, only dues-paying supporting members are eligible to ask questions and ultimately vote. If you know of anyone who is not yet a supporting member who might want to weigh in, please encourage them to become a member.
